1/20: REGIONAL POETRY CONTEST DEADLINE
CALLING ALL APPALACHIAN WRITERS!
Regional Poetry Contest
Presented by Appalachian Artist League & Dandelion Scribes
How to apply:
Send your poem to appalachianartistleague@gmail.com along with a brief bio. Poems should be under a 1200 character limit and centered around the theme of “change.” Deadline for submissions is January 20. Depending on the volume of submissions, only the first 50 poems are guaranteed consideration in order to keep judging manageable and fair. Only one poem per participant. Submit early to be in the first 50!
Winners will be announced around February 1. First place prize is $100 cash and 2nd and 3rd place will receive a $25 Visa gift card. All submissions will also be considered for publication here on the Dandelion Scribes website!

2/13: SHADOWS OF THE HEART
Cover reveal! Dandelion Scribe and local poet Angelia Ross is set to publish her debut collection of poetry this February! She is the third recipient of the Hometown Poems Author Scholarship, and she plans to release her book Shadows of the Heart on February 13! Stay tuned to find out more about how & where to purchase!
2/14: LOVE ECHOES IN RUGBY, TN
Make plans now to join the Dandelion Scribes along with a variety of local artists & performers for this unforgettable date-night opportunity! Tickets are $15 at the door, please bring cash. The Rebecca Johnson Theatre is located in the Visitor’s Center in Historic Rugby, TN.
3/20: WINTER CHAPTER DEADLINE FOR R. CLIFT ANTHOLOGY
The Book of Hellos & Goodbyes is a new anthology project to be curated & edited by poet R. Clift. This is her second anthology project, open to writers & poets everywhere! Submissions are free, and writers of all experience levels are encouraged to participate. The book will contain 4 chapters: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Writers may submit up to 2 individual pieces per chapter to be considered for publication. Submissions for the winter chapter are now open! The deadline to submit your poetry or prose for the first round is March 20.
