Spooky Poetry Activity Day
—With the Dandelion Scribes at Color Me Creative!—
Dandelion Scribes is coming back to Color Me Creative on October 23! Join us for our Spooky Poetry Activity Day, from 10am-12pm at the Scott Christian Care Center in Oneida, TN!
We will present a short poetry lesson with plenty of community creative time, featuring a variety of fun & interactive methods for creating your very own poems!
We will explore:
-Blackout Poetry: creating poems by blacking out words in a printed text and reading what's left over.
-Collage Poetry: cutting out words & phrases from printed texts and pasting them on a new page.
-Magnetic Poetry: word magnets that can be arranged on a magnetic board.
-Vintage Typewriters: older technology for writing, using a mechanical keyboard to type.
All materials will be provided, but we also invite participants to bring their own old magazines, newspapers, books, etc. to mark on / cut up as well as some markers and pens. RSVP not required, but appreciated. Contact the Scribes to let us know if you plan to attend!
FREE CLASS!
Hosted by Chrissie Boyatt & Angelia Ross.
With additional instruction provided by Cheyanne Leonardo & Brandon Thorpe.
The Scott Christian Care Center is located at 101 Marcum Road, Oneida, TN, 37841. See you there!
